Form DC was appointed to reimagine the arrival space and enhance welfare facilities, to better support employees' return to the office
reexplore
The prominent, multi-tenant office was built in 2015 and offers 172,000 sq ft of office space.
A decade later, and following a global pandemic that altered work habits, a refurbishment was necessary.
first impression
The building has two entrances: the main one on St Vincent Street, connected to Caffe Nero, and a secondary access point on the lower ground floor from the car park, which includes cycle storage and showering facilities.
Form's design brief was to create a more engaging arrival point on each floor, maintaining a professional, yet less corporate, appearance.
raising standards
Cycle storage and shower facilities have been reviewed to ensure they meet current British Council for Offices standards and also support active travel needs.
For the main arrival space, Form aimed to extend the adjacent coffee shop vibe.
Instead of a formal waiting area, various settings have been introduced, from banquette, soft seating to high tables, allowing teams to gather over coffee.
A feature wall now links the lounge to the reception and a digital panel provides tenant directories and building information, such as air quality and occupancy.
active travel
On the lower ground floor, Form has expanded the showers and reconfigured adjacent rooms to add new facilities.
St Vincent Plaza now boasts a dedicated dressing room, a drying room, and an increase in locker storage.
uptake
Tenant feedback has been extremely positive and is reflected by an increase in use across the facilities.
The building is now fully-equipped to support a smooth and positive return to the office.
