Tour company, Rabbies, was clear in its vision - a dynamic new workplace which would attract employees back to the office
Main attraction
Business success for tour operator, Rabbies, prompted their relocation to larger premises on Rose Street, Edinburgh, early summer 2024.
Their new office provides 6,000 sq ft of open plan accommodation, with a further 1,900 sq ft of private terrace, overlooking the stunning Princes Street Gardens and Edinburgh Castle.
Projection
The brief - to attract employees back to the office - involved Form's analysis of Rabbies' team size, working patterns and future expansion plans.
This data, together with site visits and briefing sessions, informed the decision to substantially reduce deskspace.
Destination
Through block plan diagrams, Form DC were able to demonstrate floor arrangement into four main spaces, or destinations:
- Social
- Collaboration
- Focus
- Support
Form's own research was used to demonstrate the importance of socialisation space and how this enhances a healthy, engaging work experience.
A place people want to travel to.
Situation
The arrival space is generous, informal, and connects seamlessly with the outdoor terrace.
Whilst focus is on socialisation and collaboration, there are quieter pockets in which to work.
Meeting rooms are placed against the cool north face of the office and the angular, glazed facades reflect that of the surrounding landscape.
The far corner of the office is where workstations are placed, providing the ideal setting for quiet focussed working, supported by functional aspects - print facility, storage, comms room.
Award Winner
Everyone involved was delighted with the Gold Award win in the 'Interior Fit-Out' Category at the FIS Awards, 2024.
