Form Design Consultants was appointed as the Lead Design Consultant, and worked closely with Nucleus’ project team to understand the business requirements for the new Greenside office.

Originally a 1970s building, the space was stripped back to its shell, providing a blank canvas with which to work.

The original concrete coffered ceiling was left exposed, together with the new services, giving the space an industrial feel.

Nucleus' colours of grey and orange are reflected in the flooring and some of the furniture, including the bespoke reception desk – its organic form giving impact on arrival – which sets the scene for a contemporary and visually stimulating office environment.

Staff were asked to submit a favourite photo, all 120 of which were used in a graphic panel, filling a complete wall and creating a major feature in the space.

The office provides a number of different spaces in which to work, including the ‘mosh-pit’ – a bespoke auditorium style feature that links the two floors.

Natural light pours through the large skylight above the space which is used for presentations, informal meetings and catching up with colleagues over a coffee.

The overall result is a bright, spacious, fun workspace which reflects the ethos of this young dynamic and successful company.
