LifeArc appointed Form to design the interior of their new, state of the art facility, at the purpose-built life sciences companies' building, Edinburgh Bioquarter
Skyline
The space affords spectacular views to Arthur’s Seat and beyond, so office accommodation and main laboratories are sited to take advantage of both these and the natural light.
Strategically placed glazing slots provide an important connection between the office and the laboratories.
Natural inspiration
The overall design concept was to create a calm, open and natural environment which reflected the ethos of LifeArc.
This was achieved through the use of oak, exposed ceilings, natural colours and texture.
A feature bespoke timber slatted pod provides a breakout space designed to mimic a tree canopy.
Carefully chosen office furniture provides a more relaxed, domestic feel to complete the scheme.
'Form worked closely with our staff to identify requirements and design preferences for office, meeting and laboratory spaces. At every stage of the design and build phases, they supported and advised us. It was a pleasure working with them. Our state-of the-art facilities are admired by everyone who visits.'
