Form DC was appointed to update the entrance lobby and common areas of 250 West George Street, a traditional townhouse accommodating office suites over five floors

The challenges presented whilst working with a traditional city centre townhouse provided Form with an opportunity to infuse a contemporary design into the classic existing features

Original features

Retaining the original cornices and panelling surrounding the large south facing windows, the new entrance lobby provides impact and a strong street presence through use of feature lighting and bespoke wall panelling, incorporating a geometric pattern of bronze and natural stone.

A solid balustrade was updated to glass, with bronze detailing, allowing natural light to flood the upper floor.

Utilising nooks within the entrance lobby, Form created soft, upholstered seating areas, widened the existing door openings and added a walnut veneer finish which now sits harmoniously with the bronze detailing and ironmongery.

Directory signage and wayfinding was updated throughout the building with a bespoke bamboo entrance board set above a bamboo barrier mat - a twist on a standard aluminium entrance mat and with associated environmental benefits.
