Balfour Beatty plc is a British multinational infrastructure group with capabilities in construction services, support services and infrastructure investments. They have recently consolidated seven offices at locations including Edinburgh, Glasgow and Shotts, into one regional HQ at Maxim Park, Eurocentral, providing 43,600 sqft of office accommodation over three floors.
Form Design Consultants were appointed as the Lead Design Consultant, working alongside RSP Consulting Engineers and Balfour Beatty’s project team.
Balfour Beatty required an office that reflected the various businesses within their organisation but also brought them together, under one roof, where they could work collaboratively and share knowledge.
The ground floor houses the reception in the bright atrium space with offices, cafe facilities and a meeting suite located either side. Each meeting suite has training facilities, a digital suite and a variety of meeting rooms. The meeting rooms are named after the early hydro schemes that Balfour Beatty built from 1914 to 1946. Each room has a timeline wall and imagery depicting the projects.
Each floor has project areas, quiet rooms and informal meeting areas, along with breakout spaces. Large digital images showcase projects completed by resident teams.
The project has recently been awarded an SKA Silver Award.
