Form Design Consultants was appointed as Lead Design Consultant to upgrade the offices at Quay 2 and Princes Exchange, Edinburgh, for Pinsent Masons LLP. The design focused on the front of house spaces to provide more appropriate client reception and meeting room arrangements, with upgrades to various aspects of the open plan.
The implementation of the Pinsent Masons’ brand was key to the success of the project. The front of house space incorporated materials and finishes common to Pinsent Masons’ corporate interior palette, with bespoke joinery items and careful detailing key to the design of the space.
The main office required to undergo a level of re-planning to improve operational spaces. Tea points, office service centres and workspaces were re-designed to improve the use of the floors. Artwork and digital images were integrated into the interior to create some drama. Staff were consulted to help develop the brief for other back of house facilities, such as breakout areas and informal meeting spaces.
Careful planning of the construction stage was required to ensure minimal disruption to the business. The project was completed over several small phases, with works implemented during night shifts. The project was delivered on time and on budget. Client feedback has been extremely positive.
